Le Petit Poisson is the shared passion of long-time friends and co-workers Solvej Puckett and Matt Micheletti. Wanting to join our experience in the Alaskan seafood industry with our love of exotic travel and fine food, Le Petit Poisson provided the platform in which to fuse a number of our ideals– quality food, transparently and directly sourced, and at fair prices.
In our infancy, we have strictly opted to work exclusively with harvesters, growers, processors and suppliers who continually choose to do the right things, and within the legal parameters 100% of the time, even when respective governments and regulations make doing so arduous and time consuming. Le Petit Poisson has on numerous occasions declined to work with any number of organizations or individuals whose backgrounds are checkered or less than transparent, even when it could have brought value to us. Having worked in both commercial fishing and the operations-side of the seafood industry, we know the value in a hard-day’s work, and what it means to do the right thing, even when no one is watching.
In the end, our goal is to provide the highest quality product available at the fairest price possible, both to our suppliers and customers. We are uniquely positioned in our industry because of this– we know the fishermen and women who supply our shell and finfish, we’ve shook hands with the harvesters (and dogs!) of European truffles. We know them on first name bases, and we strive to bring rightful acclaim to the countless and unique terroirs and merroirs from where our products originate.
